I don't get fancy with long detailed book reviews - just my short and sweet (and sometimes not-so-sweet) honest opinion!
I want to start by thanking the author, Mark Matthews, for giving me a copy of his book in audiobook format.
I love horror, I love to be shocked, I LOVE creepy. This book delivered. On The Lips of Children is a wonderfully disturbing, original, horror story. Mark Matthews knows how to tell a story. The delivery was fast paced and kept me interested and engaged throughout. The only thing I wish was that I had a chance to feel a little more attached to the main characters and was actually a little put off by Erin. It would have been nice to have my heart tied to a woman fighting for the life of her child.
I listened to this book and the audiobook was well read. It was a little distracting when the reader’s voice sounded like it was being read through a cardboard roll when we were listening to the characters thoughts. 3 ½ stars for the narration.
I also love the cover of this book (creepy/eerie/twisted) but after listening to the story, I don't quite get the connection to the book. The child, yes, but the setting, no.
I definitely recommend this book! It was fun! Thanks Mark!
